What's a wiki
A wiki is software that allows users to collaboratively create, edit, link, and organize the content of a website, usually for reference material. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites.
(so basically, this allows people to change and contribute to the site!)
Why won't I just post my band on Wikipedia?
Well... to be honest, if you can do that - GO FOR IT. However, we've found in the past that Wikipedia is very sticky with allowing bands on their website. Wikipedia normally requires several references on the internet before they allow bands on their site. PLUS you're not supposed to submit a page about yourself. That's why VicStream is here! We encourage you to submit your details to OUR wiki.
What are the rules for the Vicstream wiki?
Right now we only have a few rules.
1. Do not sabotage other people's websites.
2. Only post truthful information.
3. Do not post porn, spam, or "bad taste" content.
4. Please do not remove samples of music.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in an immediate banning.
How do I contribute? I'm confused
Now we were going to write a how-to for editing the wiki; however, wikipedia uses the exact same software we use. So please check out their instruction manual at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_edit . If you have more questions, please email stephen@vicstream.com
